Thomas Plunkett is a Consulting Solutions Director with Oracle Public Sector, where he focuses on Blockchain solutions for state, local, and federal government agencies. He has written several books related to Big Data and Cloud Computing. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences on computer software topics, including Big Data, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Crypto Currency, Databases, Java, Service Oriented Architecture, and Web Applications. Previously, he practiced patent law for a law firm, and he is admitted to the Virginia State Bar and the Patent Bar. He has also taught computer science courses for Virginia Tech, including courses on Big Data, Cloud Computing, C++, Java, and Software Engineering. He volunteers for AtrocityWatch, a 501c3 non-profit that uses big data to detect early signs of human rights violations in third world countries. He has a B.A. and a J.D. from George Mason University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech, and has taken graduate courses in Cyber Security and Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
